Role overview
DKI Canada is seeking a seasoned restoration estimator to support its Remote Estimating Desk (RED). This full-time position is based in Canada and reports to the Remote Estimating Supervisor. The salary range for this role is $55,000 to $60,000 annually.

What the role involves
As a Remote Estimator, you will prepare virtual restoration estimates for projects across the country. You’ll use your restoration knowledge and estimating software skills to produce accurate, timely, and insurer-aligned property damage estimates while working closely with members across the DKI network.
This role requires a balance of technical accuracy, relationship-building, and service orientation. You’ll need a solid understanding of restoration operations, a detail-focused approach, and a solutions mindset to help maintain service quality and operational consistency.
Key responsibilities
- Create detailed property damage and restoration estimates electronically through virtual estimating methods.
- Ensure all estimates follow insurer partner protocols and expectations.
- Use effective estimating practices that improve quality, speed, and value.
- Keep all files accurate, consistent, and up to standard.
- Deliver estimates within expected turnaround times.
- Manage priorities effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
- Assign and route files to other RED estimators when needed.
- Maintain organized workflows and clear communication to support efficiency.
- Work directly with members to improve estimate quality and share best practices.
- Offer guidance and training as part of the RED value-added service.
- Build strong working relationships across the network through professionalism and responsiveness.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Collaborate effectively in a remote team environment.
- Stay flexible and adaptable as operational needs change.
- Work independently with accountability, professionalism, and strong communication.

Requirements
- At least 5 years of direct experience in the property restoration industry.
- Strong working knowledge of Xactimate, XactAnalysis, or similar estimating software.
- Strong computer and technical ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others remotely.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a distributed team.
- Flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and business needs.
- Solid understanding of the Canadian restoration industry and estimating practices.
- High attention to detail, along with strong organization and time management skills.
Compensation and benefits
The role offers an annual salary of $55,000 to $60,000.
