Role summary
The Sandwich Maker is part of the culinary team and supports the bagged lunch program by preparing a broad range of sandwiches and specialty items. The role works across both day and night shifts and collaborates with culinary leads to ensure food is presented attractively and prepared to a high standard each day.
This is a future opportunity based in Moosonee, Ontario, in a remote camp-style setting.

Key duties
- Prepare sandwiches and related specialty items in line with standard recipes and menu requirements, including items such as egg salad and tuna mixtures.
- Manage food rotation carefully to reduce spoilage and limit waste.
- Coordinate daily sandwich station setup and production flow.
- Keep the work area clean and sanitized while following all company and legal hygiene standards for surfaces, equipment, storage areas, and fixtures.
- Check cold food items for colour, arrangement, and overall presentation before service.
- Maintain sufficient stock levels for all sandwich varieties.
Candidate profile
We are looking for someone with camp, hotel, banquet, or other large-scale cooking experience. Prior work in a high-volume sandwich preparation role is preferred, and Food Safe certification is an advantage. The role requires someone who can commit to a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, work well in a team, and focus on client satisfaction.
Physical and travel requirements
- A valid government-issued photo ID is required for travel to the site.
- A criminal background check must be successfully completed.
- The job includes lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders or stairs is needed.
- Candidates must be able to stand, walk, squat, kneel, or sit for extended periods depending on the task.
- Work may involve repetitive hand motions and full use of both hands.
- Tasks may require working with arms extended or raised above shoulder height.
Schedule and work conditions
This position follows a 2-week on and 2-week off rotation. Because the site is remote, travel may be by air or through the company shuttle from ground transport points. Work may be scheduled on nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays.
