Role Overview
The Scalehouse Attendant position is focused on maintaining a safe landfill environment while carrying out cost-conscious operational tasks. The role involves weighing vehicles, directing traffic, supporting customers at the landfill, operating trucks, cleaning the work area, training new employees, and handling basic bookkeeping and reporting responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Record vehicle weights, direct traffic in a safe manner, and provide guidance to customers.
- Track all charges for billing purposes, collect payments, reconcile amounts against reports, and complete deposits.
- Prepare operational reports such as waste tire counts, recycled paper summaries, and month-end totals.
- Work as a laborer by operating a dump truck, water truck, and pull magnet, while also picking up litter and keeping the scalehouse area clean.
- Train newly hired scalehouse staff on landfill procedures.
- Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Additional Information
This role is not responsible for supervising other employees.
