Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Role Overview

This position is for an experienced infrastructure engineer based in Doha, Qatar, with responsibility for both design and site engineering work on utilities and civil infrastructure projects. The role focuses on water, wastewater, stormwater, and highway drainage systems, with regular interaction with clients, project teams, and CAD/design staff.

Design Engineering Responsibilities

• Carry out engineering calculations and analyses for potable water, sewer, stormwater, and highway drainage systems using accepted engineering principles and relevant experience.
• Develop general arrangements, layouts, plans, and profiles for infrastructure works.
• Investigate design alternatives and prepare supporting design documents.
• Produce engineering calculations, quantity take-offs, specifications, and design deliverables.
• Guide CAD designers and junior engineers involved in the same assignment.
• Communicate confidently with clients in meetings and presentations.

Site Engineering Responsibilities

• Supervise on-site activities to make sure construction follows the approved design, specifications, and schedule.
• Track work progress, confirm tasks are executed properly, and check compliance with engineering standards.
• Review drawings and conduct site inspections for potable water, sewer, stormwater, and highway drainage works.
• Use engineering judgment and experience to assess site conditions and implementation quality.
• Represent the project professionally in client meetings and presentations.

Education and Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required, or a master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Hydraulics Engineering.
• The role calls for 10 to 15 years of relevant infrastructure engineering experience.
• Background should include substantial work on water, wastewater, and stormwater drainage networks with increasing responsibility over time.
• Experience in a multidisciplinary consultancy environment is expected.

Technical and Communication Skills

• Hands-on exposure to modelling and design tools such as SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM, WS Pro, Civil 3D, and Navisworks.
• Strong report-writing ability with a focus on clear, concise documentation.
• Excellent presentation skills and strong written and verbal communication.
• Self-driven, motivated, and able to collaborate well as part of a team.
