Senior Purchase Engineer

Key responsibilities

• Analyze spending patterns and compile budget-related reports for management review.
• Source, assess, and build a dependable supplier base for direct automotive components as well as indirect purchases, including CAPEX requirements.
• Work with vendors on pricing, commercial conditions, and contract discussions to drive savings.
• Handle planning and execution of purchase activities for both direct and indirect requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal teams to keep procurement workflows running smoothly.
• Examine purchase requests for indirect items and capital expenditure needs.
• Issue purchase orders and track completion of Goods Receipt Notes in a timely manner.
• Follow up with suppliers and internal material-handling teams to support on-schedule deliveries.
• Carry out cost-reduction studies and contribute improvement ideas.
• Prepare procurement and purchasing dashboards and reports covering cost trends and supplier performance.
• Oversee purchase, store, and stock operations through SAP MM.
• Track inventory discipline, including stock control, batch tracking, FIFO practice, and reduction of operational losses.
• Create and maintain MIS reports connected to procurement and inventory.
• Assist in QMS and EOHS compliance work as part of a cross-functional team.

Requirements

• Strong capability in negotiation and vendor relationship management.
• Working knowledge of procurement workflows, warehouse processes, and inventory control.
• Practical experience with the SAP MM module.
• Solid analytical thinking and cost-management ability.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.
• Comfortable using MS Excel and preparing MIS reports.
