About the Role
Shaw GMC in Calgary, Alberta is hiring a Service Porter to support its dealership service department. The position sits within a family-owned automotive group built around Kaizen, or continuous improvement, with a focus on delivering a strong customer experience, creating room for employee growth, and contributing positively to the community.

Position Summary
The Service Porter helps support day-to-day dealership service operations by managing vehicle movement, keeping the service area organized, and assisting with customer-facing tasks. The role requires safe driving habits, attention to detail, and a willingness to handle a variety of support duties in a dealership setting.
Responsibilities
- Welcome service customers and assist with vehicle drop-off when needed.
- Safely move customer vehicles to parking spaces, service bays, or wash areas.
- Bring vehicles up for customer pickup and make sure they are presentable for delivery.
- Keep the service drive, parking areas, and dealership grounds clean and orderly.
- Support technicians and service advisors by organizing vehicle flow and staging units.
- Carry out simple vehicle checks, including fuel level, tire condition, and exterior condition.
- Assist with shuttle service operations when required.
- Help manage loaner or rental vehicles by checking for damage and refueling them as needed.
- Follow dealership, OEM, and safety procedures while handling vehicles and equipment.
- Take on additional duties assigned by leadership.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
- Experience in an automotive, dealership, or other customer-facing setting is considered an advantage.
- Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles; training may be provided if needed.
- Strong focus on safety and careful attention to detail.
- Comfort working outdoors in changing weather conditions and staying physically active during the shift.
- Good time management and the ability to adjust quickly in a busy environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and professional in both appearance and communication.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
