Site Supervisor

Role Overview

This assignment is for an experienced Site Supervisor focused on civil works for onshore wind projects. The role is based in Dortmund, Germany, and is expected to run for around one year. It combines regular site presence with construction management support and close coordination with project teams.

Location and Start

The position is located in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The expected start date is July 1st.

Travel and Working Pattern

Weekly site visits are part of the arrangement, and travel as well as accommodation will be covered. The workload is around 40 hours per month, with the possibility to increase hours if needed. Rotation may be arranged optionally, and the engagement can be expanded toward a full-time setup if required.

Key Duties

The supervisor will act as the client’s on-site representative and will be responsible for managing contractor activity and supporting successful delivery of the works. The position places strong emphasis on quality, safety, and compliance across civil, electrical, and turbine-related tasks.

• Monitor cable laying operations.
• Oversee wind turbine generator delivery, installation, and commissioning stages.
• Ensure work follows German standards, safety regulations, and accepted construction practices.
• Carry out quality checks and compliance tracking.
• Lead quality control for civil, electrical, and WTG works, including documentation and reporting.
• Prepare and submit daily and weekly reports and records.

Experience and Competence Needed

The ideal candidate is a native German speaker with the confidence to deal directly with clients, contractors, and teams on site. Prior supervision experience in German onshore wind construction is required, and a background of more than 10 years is preferred. Familiarity with German construction rules, safety expectations, and challenging project environments such as forest or rough-terrain repowering sites is important. Either electrical or civil experience will be valuable.

Engagement Terms

This is a freelance or contract engagement. Candidates may be based in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Austria, Liechtenstein, or similar nearby locations, provided they are fluent in German.
