Role overview
This position is responsible for leading a supermarket store team, guiding department managers and supporting an environment where both customers and team members have a positive experience. The role focuses on strong day-to-day leadership, operational discipline, customer service, safety, and building a connected workplace culture.
Roster
The expected roster is Monday to Sunday, with working hours from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
What the role involves
- Lead and coach the store team to deliver a consistently strong shopping experience.
- Work alongside the Assistant Store Manager to guide Department Managers and help the team perform at a high standard.
- Create an inclusive, welcoming store culture where people feel they belong.
- Support day-to-day operational standards and customer service delivery across the store.
- Keep safety front and centre by making sure correct procedures are followed for customers and team members.
- Help build rosters that give the team consistency and ensure the right people are in place at the right time.
- Coach and develop team members so they can grow into stronger leaders and advance their careers.
- Use data and store insights to understand customer and team needs and improve priorities.
- Stay commercially aware, respond quickly to change, and adapt where needed.
- Build relationships with the local community and contribute to sustainability initiatives.
