Role Overview
This is an onsite Telephonist / Switchboard Operator position at a government building in Longford, County Longford, Ireland. The assignment runs for 11 months.
Working Hours
The role is scheduled for 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, on an as-and-when basis.
Key Duties
- Serve as the initial contact point for the department and provide strong customer service support.
- Answer incoming calls, understand caller needs, and direct calls appropriately using a courteous, professional manner.
- Maintain a polite and professional approach in all interactions with both internal and external customers.
- Handle receptionist duties where required by certain departments.
- Provide cover support when needed.
Experience and Skills
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Prior experience in a telephonist or receptionist role.
- Capacity to work effectively both as part of a team and independently in a busy environment.
Compliance Requirements
Garda vetting and security clearance are mandatory for this position.
