UI/UX Designer

Role overview

This opportunity is for a UI/UX Designer based in Canada and is being shared on behalf of a partner employer that oversees the application process and all next steps. The role is centered on creating digital products that are practical, polished, and enjoyable to use.

You will contribute throughout the entire product design cycle, starting with discovery and user research and continuing through detailed interface design and final delivery. The position combines strategic problem-solving with hands-on design work, turning user needs and business objectives into clear, usable, and visually strong experiences.

Working alongside product managers, developers, and other stakeholders, you will help build digital products that are consistent, scalable, and accessible. The environment values collaboration, independence, curiosity, and strong design craftsmanship.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out research activities including interviews, workshops, usability tests, and heuristic reviews to better understand user expectations and product goals.
• Turn research findings into concrete design deliverables such as personas, journey maps, site structures, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity screens.
• Design user experiences that are easy to navigate, inclusive, and aligned with both user needs and business priorities.
• Build and evolve design systems in Figma, covering components, tokens, styles, and supporting documentation.
• Produce interface designs that remain visually coherent and follow brand direction as well as usability best practices.
• Plan and facilitate usability testing, review the findings, and refine designs based on feedback.
• Work closely with product, engineering, and stakeholder teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately and smoothly.
• Record design rationale and explain decisions clearly using user data and project objectives as support.
• Contribute to project estimates, pitches, and business development efforts when required.
• Look for ways to improve design workflows and adopt modern tools, including AI, to increase efficiency and quality.

Requirements

• At least 5 to 7 years of experience in UX/UI design or product design, backed by a portfolio showing both research-led thinking and strong visual execution.
• Practical experience with user research methods such as interviews, usability testing, and heuristic evaluation.
• Advanced command of Figma, including components, auto-layout, variables, and design system work.
• Solid grasp of visual design fundamentals, including typography, spacing, hierarchy, and color.
• Experience designing digital products, preferably enterprise software or other complex systems.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and the ability to design for inclusive experiences.
• Working knowledge of HTML and CSS is considered an advantage for smoother collaboration with developers.
• Interest in AI tools and how they can be applied to design workflows and product innovation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the confidence to explain and defend design choices.
• French and English bilingual proficiency is required.
