Job summary

This position is for a driven and seasoned Assistant Process Engineering Manager to help improve and stabilize manufacturing operations at Unilever India Exports Ltd. The role focuses on streamlining processes, lifting operational performance, and supporting consistently high product standards.

What you will do

  • Support the planning, development, and refinement of manufacturing processes to raise efficiency, lower operating costs, and strengthen product quality.
  • Review process performance, pinpoint bottlenecks, and recommend practical ideas for ongoing improvement.
  • Work closely with teams across production, R&D, and quality assurance to roll out new methods and technologies.
  • Track key process metrics, study data trends, and prepare reports that highlight progress and areas needing attention.
  • Help troubleshoot process issues and resolve them quickly to keep production interruptions to a minimum.
  • Create, revise, and maintain SOPs and work instructions for different production activities.
  • Make sure all work follows applicable safety, health, environmental, and internal policy requirements.

  • Support the evaluation, installation, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  • Contribute to capital expenditure initiatives, including feasibility assessment and execution support.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Three to five years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally in FMCG.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and solve technical problems effectively.
  • Good knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement approaches.
  • Comfort using process simulation tools and data analysis software.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and people skills.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-moving, changing work environment.
  • Understanding of safety rules and quality systems such as ISO.
  • Project management exposure will be considered an added advantage.
