Role Summary

This full-time, on-site Barista position in Lagos involves preparing and serving coffee drinks and other beverages in line with set recipes and quality expectations. The role also includes handling customer orders, processing payments, keeping the workspace clean and safe, and making sure equipment is used correctly and maintained properly. In addition, the barista will assist with basic food preparation, replenish stock, and follow hygiene and safety procedures to help create a friendly, efficient, and consistent café experience.

Key Duties

• Make espresso-based drinks and other beverages according to standard recipes and quality guidelines.
• Receive customer orders, process payments, and ensure requests are handled accurately.
• Keep the work area tidy, safe, and well-organized throughout the shift.
• Operate coffee machines and other equipment correctly, including routine cleaning and upkeep.
• Assist with simple food preparation and basic food assembly as needed.
• Refill supplies and help maintain adequate stock levels.
• Follow food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety practices at all times.
• Work closely with customers and teammates to deliver a welcoming café service.

Qualifications and Work Expectations

• Strong customer-facing skills with a courteous, professional, and service-oriented approach.
• Practical experience making coffee drinks, using espresso machines, and working from beverage recipes.
• Good communication skills for taking orders clearly, explaining menu items, and coordinating with colleagues.
• Basic food handling and preparation knowledge, with attention to hygiene standards.
• Prior exposure to a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment is beneficial.
• Comfortable standing for long periods and working shifts, including weekends or public holidays when needed.
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and willing to learn and follow standard procedures.
• Minimum education of a high school diploma or equivalent; barista or food safety certification is an added advantage.
