Building Cleaner

Role Overview

Canada Goose is hiring a Building Cleaner for its Scarborough, Ontario facility at CGS1, 33 Commander Blvd, Scarborough, Ontario M1S 3E7, Canada. The role reports to the Building Operator and focuses on carrying out scheduled cleaning and sanitation tasks across the site. This is a full-time onsite position with standard 8-hour shifts and occasional weekend work may be required.

Key Duties

The cleaner will be responsible for keeping the facility clean, organized, and sanitary throughout the day. Work includes surface cleaning, floor care, restroom sanitation, waste handling, and supporting building occupants with essential supplies.

• Wipe and disinfect desks, tables, fixtures, kitchen areas, equipment surfaces, and other high-touch points such as door handles, appliance handles, and faucets.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors across the site.
• Restock items used by employees and visitors, including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, cleaning materials, and supplies for coffee machines.
• Clean interior windows, walls, and ceilings.
• Dust the full premises.
• Carry out thorough cleaning and sanitizing of washrooms, including mirrors, sinks, fixtures, and handles.
• Collect, empty, and remove garbage, debris, and recycling from the building.
• Maintain cleanliness in cafeterias and kitchen areas.
• Load compactors, waste and recycling bins, and the wood bin.
• Perform other assigned tasks as needed.

Requirements

• WHMIS and MSDC certifications are considered an advantage.
• At least 2 years of experience cleaning offices, manufacturing sites, or warehouse environments is preferred.
• Ability to follow directions, solve problems, and take initiative when needed.

• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working in positions that involve bending and crouching.
• Self-driven and comfortable working independently as well as with a team.
• Ability to learn and operate commercial cleaning equipment such as power washers and step tools.
• Comfortable collaborating across functions.
• Must wear safety shoes throughout the shift.
• Able to remain standing for the entire shift.
• Works efficiently and on schedule.
• Comfortable handling chemical cleaning solutions.
• Can read basic English, including health and safety signage, and has good spoken English communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with some noise.
• Must be able to clean office areas, kitchens, cafeterias, production floors, washrooms, and similar spaces within a facility.
• Full-time onsite work with standard 8-hour shifts and occasional weekend availability.

Pay and Hiring Notes

The pay range for this role is $18.38 to $26.93 per hour. The company notes that this range is only a guide, and final compensation will depend on responsibilities, market conditions, internal pay consistency, experience, skills, and fit for the role.
