About the Company
WPP Production is a global production group that unifies WPP’s content studios, production specialists, and craft talent into one connected team. It blends human creativity with advanced technology to create, design, and deliver content systems across multiple channels at scale.
WPP is a worldwide growth partner for major brands, combining media intelligence, data-driven solutions, creativity, production, enterprise services, and strategic guidance. Its work is powered by WPP Open, the company’s agentic marketing platform.
Work Model
This position follows a hybrid setup, with teams typically working from the office about four days each week. If you need flexibility or accommodations, you can discuss that during the interview process.
Role Summary
The CGI Artist/Retoucher is responsible for producing polished automotive vehicle visuals and supporting backgrounds for advertising and marketing. The role uses a mix of CGI, AI, photography, and illustration to create final imagery. Work may include CGI-based creative retouching, AI-generated backgrounds or additions, special effects, style development for specific clients or campaigns, basic retouching, product updates, and vehicle color changes.
This position reports to the Group Design Director.
Key Responsibilities
The role requires ownership of retouching work from a quality, craft, speed, and profitability standpoint. It also involves supporting clients by explaining WPP Production’s tools and workflow in a way that helps projects run successfully. Close collaboration with creative and design teams is essential to maintain visual accuracy, consistency, brand standards, image style, and overall creative quality. The role also includes spotting ways to improve process efficiency and output quality.
Knowledge and Skills
Success in this position calls for the ability to build long-term, trust-based relationships with clients and deliver a positive experience to everyone interacting with WPP Production. The person should be comfortable developing new relationships with producers and creatives, taking responsibility for assignments, following guidance from the Group Design Director and other stakeholders, and maintaining regular project communication through meetings or email.
The role also requires coordination with the Group Design Director, Client Engagement Leads, and Studio Resource Director to help manage daily retouching workloads. Strong communication across teams, the ability to gather and relay project feedback, and a proactive approach to decision-making are important. Organizational discipline is needed for file naming, saving, and storage. The candidate should also be able to check work carefully before delivery, prepare annotated PDFs for reviews, record time accurately, and manage time well.
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Design, Creative Arts, Fine Arts, or a related subject is preferred. The ideal candidate should have 8+ years of experience in CGI and retouching.
Why This Role
This is an opportunity to help shape the future of content production at a global scale. The work environment is collaborative and centered on craft excellence, innovation, and the use of AI and next-generation tools to enhance human creativity rather than replace it. The role offers exposure to varied projects, global career possibilities, and the support of WPP’s broad network.
Inclusion and Equal Opportunity
WPP is an equal opportunity employer and evaluates candidates for all roles without discrimination. The company is committed to building a respectful workplace where people feel they belong and can advance their careers equally.
