Role Overview

As a Cloud DevSecOps Engineer, you will help build, operate, and improve the cloud infrastructure that supports business services. The role sits within a DevSecOps-focused team that supports a customer cloud environment made up of hundreds of servers and multiple cloud service models, including SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. You will contribute hands-on cloud engineering knowledge, infrastructure configuration, and ongoing service reliability improvements while staying current with technology standards, trends, and modern development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, test, implement, and maintain technologies across AWS cloud environments.
• Configure, test, and integrate CI/CD tooling.
• Design and build solutions that satisfy project needs.
• Collaborate in an agile, cross-functional team and actively contribute to team outcomes.
• Tackle difficult technical issues both independently and with others.
• Refine processes using industry best practices for client cloud service support operations.
• Create documentation for new workflows and procedures.
• Stay current with standards, trends, emerging technologies, and software engineering best practices.
• Apply practical DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code knowledge in project delivery.
• Run, support, and administer infrastructure and services to meet agreed service levels.
• Ensure implementation and operations follow client technology standards and policies.
• Provide production support for AWS systems, including monitoring, tuning, patching, updates, and upgrades.
• Use AWS CloudFormation to reduce production deployment time through infrastructure automation.
• Work with AMI and Auto Scaling Group development and maintenance.
• Improve resource tagging to support cost allocation, budgeting, reporting, and governance.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Between 1 and 3 years of relevant IT experience.
• Practical experience with CI/CD development, scripting tools such as Python and Ansible, IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation, and AWS cloud services in a DevSecOps context.
• Experience setting up, using, and improving CI/CD pipelines, scripting, and automated testing.
• Ability to code or script in languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Perl, Python, or similar.
• Advantageous experience in scripting OS and service setup.
• Understanding of cloud concepts, services, technologies, and architecture.
• Experience using and integrating tools such as Git, Maven, Gradle, Bamboo, and Jenkins.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with customers and stakeholders.
• Friendly, collaborative, and adaptable team attitude.
• Comfortable working in a cross-functional environment as well as contributing individually.
• Optional advantage: experience building cloud-native applications using Python or Node.js.
• Optional advantage: deep knowledge of cloud networking.
• Optional advantage: cloud-related technical certifications or qualifications in AWS or Azure.
