Role Overview
The Design Studio Assistant will play a key role in the Design Studio team by handling administrative support and helping guide homeowners through the interior selection journey. This is a part-time onsite role, expected to work 2 to 3 days per week. The position supports the Design Team with meeting preparation, document handling, studio upkeep, and communication with purchasers.
The successful candidate will help with colour selection appointments for inventory homes, assist purchasers throughout the selection process, and ensure records and follow-up tasks are completed accurately so construction timelines stay on track. The role also helps keep the Design Studio organized, welcoming, and efficient while maintaining a high standard of service for Richcraft homeowners.
Responsibilities
- Support designers by preparing meeting materials, paperwork, and supporting documentation for purchaser appointments.
- Lead colour selection appointments for inventory homes when needed and guide purchasers through the available options.
- Conduct purchaser orientations and walkthroughs when requested.
- Respond to incoming phone calls and general questions, routing inquiries to the correct team member when necessary.
- Provide prompt, professional responses to purchaser questions about the studio process, selections, and next steps.
- Handle purchaser payments and keep records accurate and up to date.
- Compile, organize, and maintain purchaser document packages.
- Assist with filing, data entry, document control, and other administrative duties.
- Support designers with CAD sketches, updates, and design-related documentation as needed.
- Help maintain studio resources, product samples, displays, and selection materials.
- Keep the Design Studio tidy, organized, and presentable.
- Take on additional design team tasks and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- A post-secondary diploma, certificate, or degree in Interior Design or Interior Decorating is preferred.
- Previous experience in customer service, administrative support, interior design, or interior decorating is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
- AutoCAD knowledge is preferred.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.
- Familiarity with DocuSign would be considered an asset.
- Understanding of residential construction and the building industry is an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail with strong organization and time management.
- Ability to work independently and also collaborate effectively with a team.
- Professional, client-focused approach when working with purchasers.
- Willingness to travel to communities, job sites, and events when required.
Additional Information
This part-time position is scheduled for 2 to 3 days per week. The company offers a salary range of $23 to $24 per hour. This is a new vacancy.
