This is a broad executive support role that goes well beyond managing a calendar. You will act as a dependable partner to the CEO, helping coordinate priorities for the Executive Leadership Group, supporting governance-related activity, handling strategic initiatives, and maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders.

The position is suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, staying ahead of needs, and turning plans into action.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the CEO’s complex diary, meeting schedule, and written correspondence.
  • Prepare polished reports, presentations, briefing notes, and executive communications.

  • Organise executive travel and manage stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Assist with strategic projects and wider organisational initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Spot and recommend improvements to executive workflows and business processes.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive matters with a high level of discretion.

What the role asks of you

You should be a seasoned Executive Assistant who is comfortable supporting senior leaders and working independently. The ideal candidate is highly organised, proactive, and able to stay several steps ahead in a dynamic environment.

Experience in a not-for-profit organisation, professional association, or membership-based body will be considered an advantage.

Candidate profile

  • Minimum five years of experience supporting a CEO or senior executives.
  • Strong planning, organisation, and time management ability.
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills.
  • Sound judgement and a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • High standards of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office capability, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving setting.
  • Confidence building effective relationships across all levels of an organisation.

Working here gives you the chance to contribute to a cause that supports the social work profession and the communities it serves across Australia.

  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • Opportunity to contribute to strategic organisational projects.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Values-led culture grounded in respect, collaboration, integrity, accountability, and responsiveness.
  • Close exposure to an experienced Executive Leadership Team.
