Role Summary
The Hostess plays an important front-of-house role in delivering a welcoming dining experience, supporting smooth restaurant operations, and ensuring guests feel cared for from arrival to departure.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with colleagues to keep service flowing efficiently and the outlet operating smoothly.
- Follow all hotel rules, standard procedures, service standards, grooming expectations, and disciplinary guidelines.
- Handle every guest interaction in a warm, courteous, and inviting manner.
- Use polished telephone etiquette and maintain a solid understanding of reservation policies and processes.
- Stay fully informed about restaurant offerings and the wider hotel services.
- Welcome guests, seat them promptly, and set the tone for a pleasant hospitality experience.
- Keep the restaurant entrance and reception area attended, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
- Verify that each table is clean and properly prepared before seating guests.
- Check in with guests about their experience and raise any concerns to outlet management while attempting to resolve issues quickly.
- Support service wherever needed to help the team during busy periods.
- Assist the cashier and cover cashier duties during breaks.
Qualifications
Candidates are expected to have prior experience as a restaurant hostess, ideally in a hospitality or restaurant environment. Strong people skills, clear communication, good organization, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy setting are important. A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification is required, while extra training in hospitality or guest relations is an advantage.
