Position Overview
Cabot Cape Breton is hiring a Housekeeping Supervisor for its property in Inverness, Nova Scotia. This is a full-time, non-seasonal role based at 18 Cabot Lane, Inverness, NS B0E 1N0, Canada. The position follows an English-language workplace and is identified under NOC 62024.
Work Details
The role offers a wage of C$21.50 per hour and requires at least 30 hours of work per week. There are 2 vacancies available.
Key Duties
- Lead the day-to-day housekeeping schedule for guest rooms, lodges, villas, and shared spaces so cleaning work is completed on time.
- Carry out regular inspections and quality reviews to make sure rooms and facilities meet company standards before guest arrival.
- Assist with cleaning duties whenever operational needs call for extra hands.
- Supervise housekeeping attendants and cleaning staff, making sure instructions are clear and work is completed properly.
- Assign daily tasks and rework schedules based on occupancy, guest check-ins and check-outs, and available staff.
- Track attendance, productivity, and staff performance.
- Train new and existing team members on correct cleaning methods, equipment use, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
- Ensure team members follow health and safety procedures, including the proper use of protective gear.
- Help maintain a respectful and safe workplace and escalate employee concerns when needed.
- Coordinate with Front Desk, Maintenance, and Management so rooms are ready on time and operational issues are shared quickly.
- Report damaged furniture, maintenance issues, and safety concerns that need repair or replacement.
- Support management in improving housekeeping processes and service standards.
- Keep an eye on linens, supplies, and equipment so daily operations are properly stocked.
- Ask for replenishment and report shortages or equipment problems promptly.
- Respond courteously to guest questions, requests, and feedback related to housekeeping.
- Make sure service issues are resolved quickly to protect guest satisfaction.
- Maintain basic records such as room inspection notes, staff schedules, and supply usage as requested by management.
Requirements
- Completion of at least high school education.
- A minimum of one year of supervisory experience in housekeeping, cleaning services, or a similar operational setting.
- Willingness to complete a criminal background check as a hiring requirement.
- Physical ability to handle demanding work, including standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying items up to 50 pounds.
- Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
