Descripción del trabajo

About the organisation

Hato Hone St John has supported communities across New Zealand since 1885. Today, its workforce of around 11,000 volunteers and employees contributes to the health and wellbeing of people throughout Aotearoa through emergency response, health education, access, and monitoring services.

About the role

This is a strong fit for an experienced HR Business Partner or senior HR Advisor who wants meaningful work, flexibility, and the opportunity to work closely with leaders in a complex, diverse organisation. The position sits within the HR Business Partnering team and the wider People function, supporting a multi-faceted organisation that includes ambulance services, community health programmes, and commercial operations.

The role is broader than a standard HR advisory position and offers variety from day to day. You will provide generalist HR advice, help build high-performing teams, support change initiatives, and contribute to the people strategy. A key part of the job is acting as a trusted partner who can manage complex employment relations matters and develop strong relationships across the organisation. The role is based within the Community Health portfolio, where the work has a direct impact on services delivered to communities.

About you

You will bring solid experience working in complex environments and be comfortable operating at senior level. This role may suit an HRBP or a highly experienced HR Advisor ready for a broader challenge.

Working arrangement

This position offers meaningful flexibility and balance, with a requirement to work from the Ellerslie office at least two days each week. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm.

How to apply

Expressions of interest are invited by Sunday 28 June. For more information, contact Lindsey Frankland on 027 309 8372 or at [email protected].

Inclusion and accessibility

Hato Hone St John values diversity and aims to create an inclusive workplace where everyone can bring their authentic selves. The organisation welcomes different perspectives and is committed to fostering a safe, equitable environment. If you require accessibility accommodations during recruitment, you are encouraged to contact the recruiter. Applicants are also encouraged to apply even if their experience does not match every requirement exactly.

Additional information

The organisation offers a collaborative, high-trust culture, a supportive manager, and a team environment focused on trust, care, and development.
