Places for People is looking for a skilled Joiner to carry out local repair and installation work across homes in the community. Key duties

• Carry out joinery repairs and installations in domestic properties
• Handle tasks such as fitting doors, kitchens, flooring and internal fixtures
• Work from specifications, reports and agreed quality standards
• Keep customers’ homes and possessions protected while work is underway
• Coordinate with supervisors, schedulers and other teams to meet deadlines
• Maintain accurate work records and complete all required paperwork
• Support apprentices and help drive team output and KPI achievement

Day-to-day working style

• Follow a planned schedule of repair and maintenance jobs
• Travel between properties in the provided company van
• Work alone or alongside other tradespeople as needed
• Interact directly with customers in their homes
• Deliver work efficiently while staying compliant and maintaining quality

Work environment

• Occupied homes
• Vacant properties
• Various domestic settings in the local patch
• Homes where vulnerable customers may be present

Essential requirements

• NVQ Level 2 in Joinery, or an equivalent qualification
• Previous experience as a Joiner, ideally in social housing or domestic settings
• A full UK driving licence
• Residence within the TN postcode area, due to the coverage of the patch

Preferred but not required

• Experience across more than one trade
• Comfort using IT systems or a willingness to learn digital tools

Hiring process and additional information

The hiring team is aiming to speak with suitable candidates as soon as possible. If selected, you will begin with an induction programme covering internal systems, ways of working and other essential information.

A Basic DBS check is required for this position. You may also need to work in surrounding areas when needed.
