Role overview
This contract role is for a Laboratory Assistant supporting a hospital clinical laboratory on an eight-week backfill assignment. The position is based at Adventist Health Twin Cities in Templeton, California, and involves helping with specimen collection, sample processing, and general lab workflow so diagnostic testing can move forward accurately and on time.

Compensation
Pay rate: $45 to $47 per hour
Estimated weekly earnings: $1,620 to $1,880
What you will do
You will support daily clinical lab activities by handling patient specimens carefully, assisting with routine processing tasks, and helping maintain smooth laboratory operations. The position requires a steady focus on accuracy, adherence to lab procedures, and timely support for diagnostic work.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience with Epic EMR is required.
- Prior exposure to a clinical laboratory or phlebotomy setting is preferred.
- You should be comfortable working rotating shifts, including weekends.
- Strong attention to detail and consistent adherence to laboratory protocols are important.
- You must be able to perform well in a busy hospital lab environment.
- Hospital credentialing standards must be met.
Required credentials
- Epic EMR experience is mandatory.
- Phlebotomy experience is preferred.
- BLS certification is preferred if it is required by facility policy.
