Position Summary
This role is centered on managing electronic resources and cataloging while also delivering library instruction and reference support. The librarian will teach in classrooms, online, and at the reference desk.
Key Duties
- Carry out assigned duties at the designated campus, instructional site, or work location.
- Oversee and maintain electronic resources, including LibGuides and related library technologies, so online information remains dependable and accessible.
- Catalog library materials for circulation and check-out.
- Respond to user reference and research questions using library resources.
- Design and lead library instruction sessions in person and via Zoom.
- Act as an embedded librarian for web-based courses.
- Support planning and implementation of library initiatives.
- Partner with faculty to integrate open educational resources into coursework.
Required Qualifications
A master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited program is required, along with strong computer proficiency.
Preferred Background
Experience with LibGuides and other library software is desirable, as is familiarity with cataloging work.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of library and educational technologies, accessibility principles, and universal design. Familiarity with learning management systems is needed, with Desire2Learn preferred. The role also calls for the ability to build cooperative working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administrators; collaborate effectively as part of a team; communicate clearly; accept and provide supervision; and maintain professional relationships with a diverse range of internal and external contacts. The position may require evening and weekend hours as well as virtual work time.

Compensation
The salary range is $48,562 to $60,703 annually, depending on experience.
