In this role, you will handle the end-to-end technical management of live audio systems, from planning and setup to operation, upkeep, and final strike. You will work closely with performers, production teams, and venue leadership to ensure each event meets a high technical and creative standard.
This position suits someone who performs well in fast-moving live environments, can adapt quickly to production changes, and consistently maintains excellent sound quality under pressure.

- Mix on both digital and analogue consoles during rehearsals and live shows.
- Carry out detailed sound checks with artists, musicians, DJs, presenters, and production crews.
- Adjust levels, EQ, dynamics, monitor feeds, and effects to maintain strong audio quality throughout the event.
- Deliver reliable front-of-house and monitor mixes aligned with performance and production needs.
Technical support
- Identify and fix equipment or system issues before and during events with as little disruption as possible.
- Diagnose problems in microphones, wireless systems, speakers, amplifiers, processors, and digital audio networks.
- Carry out routine testing, preventive maintenance, and equipment checks.
- Arrange servicing or repairs when necessary.
Event production support
- Work alongside Production Managers, Lighting Technicians, Stage Managers, AV teams, performers, and external production partners.
- Review technical riders and deliver the audio setup required by each artist or act.
- Support stage patching, signal routing, and backstage technical assistance.
- Assist with rehearsals, venue changeovers, and production scheduling.
- Help ensure smooth coordination between audio, lighting, video, and special effects.
Equipment management
- Keep an accurate record of audio equipment and related accessories.
- Store, move, and maintain equipment in line with manufacturer guidance.
- Flag damaged or missing items promptly.
- Suggest equipment upgrades or replacements when needed.
Health and safety
- Follow venue procedures for health, safety, and operations at all times.
- Manage cables and equipment placement safely to reduce hazards.
- Comply with electrical safety rules and event risk-management practices.
Continuous improvement
- Keep up to date with new audio tools, software, and industry methods.
- Take part in technical training sessions and product demonstrations.
- Share ideas that improve production quality and workflow efficiency.
Technical expertise required
You should have strong hands-on knowledge of professional digital mixing consoles and a solid grasp of audio signal flow, gain structure, acoustics, microphone selection and placement, loudspeaker systems, wireless microphone systems, and digital audio networking, with Dante preferred. Experience working on front-of-house and monitor systems is important. Familiarity with audio recording systems will be an advantage. You should also be able to read technical drawings, stage plots, and audio patch lists.
Qualifications and experience
A Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or technical certification in Audio Engineering, Sound Engineering, Music Technology, or a related field is preferred. The role calls for 5 to 6 years of professional live sound experience, ideally gained in venues, festivals, theatres, concerts, or luxury hospitality settings. Prior support for high-profile live events and performances is strongly valued.
