Role overview
The Rural City of Wangaratta is hiring three proactive Maintenance Workers to join its Roads Team in Wangaratta, Victoria. This is a permanent full-time role offering $65,884 per year plus superannuation, with a 9-day fortnight. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, working outdoors, and helping maintain safe and accessible local infrastructure.
Key duties
- Support the upkeep and improvement of sealed roads and related local infrastructure.
- Use machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Work closely with team members to achieve quality results.
- Contribute to a safer and more accessible community through hands-on maintenance work.
What the council is seeking
The preferred candidate will bring prior exposure to civil construction or road maintenance, although this is not essential. Applicants should ideally have relevant licences or tickets such as a truck licence or plant operation credentials, along with a basic understanding of workplace safety. A dependable work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude are also important.
