Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-focused Material Engineer to become part of the project team in Riyadh. In this position, you will help ensure that all construction materials used on the project meet the required specifications, quality benchmarks, and approved standards, while also contributing to smooth project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess construction materials against project specifications and applicable standards.
- Work closely with consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal project teams on material-related matters.
- Examine material submittals, technical data sheets, and supporting compliance records.
- Oversee material quality checks, inspections, and testing activities to confirm adherence to approved requirements.
- Assist procurement and site teams in choosing and approving appropriate construction materials.
- Support the resolution of technical issues connected to materials during project execution.
- Keep accurate records of approved materials, inspections, and testing documents.
- Prepare material-related reports and help maintain project quality standards.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate should hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Material Engineering, or a closely related discipline, along with 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in material engineering on construction projects. A solid understanding of construction materials, testing methods, and quality requirements is essential. Experience handling material submittals and coordinating with project stakeholders is also important. Familiarity with international standards and material compliance processes is expected. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering software will be needed. Saudi Council of Engineers membership is preferred or may be required.
