Role overview
South West Water is hiring a Meter Reader for its Exeter team. This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary of £26,914 plus benefits. The role is based around the Exeter area, covering EX1 to EX12, and is best suited to someone who enjoys being out on the road rather than working from a desk.
What the job involves
- Visiting customer locations to read water meters accurately
- Recording meter readings correctly so billing remains accurate
- Speaking with customers in a polite and helpful manner
- Organising daily routes and managing time effectively
- Working toward daily reading targets
- Flagging faulty meters and any other issues discovered during visits
- Keeping the van and equipment clean, safe, and in working order
- Following health and safety requirements at all times
