Role Overview

Goodyear is seeking a Millwright for its Texarkana, Arkansas plant. This is an onsite, part-time position in a fast-moving industrial setting where the work centers on keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently.

The company emphasizes safety, skill development, and long-term growth. New team members receive extensive onboarding and training, with more than 1,000 hours invested in new hires to help them produce quality work safely.

Compensation

The base pay is $40.05 per hour for Millwrights enrolled in the Multicraft program. The starting rate for a Singlecraft Millwright is $33.55 per hour. Millwrights may move into the Multicraft program in July or January after meeting the qualifications, at which point Multicraft pay begins.

A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is available and is paid over three years, including $4,000 within the first 30 days.

What You Will Do

In this role, you will install, repair, and maintain machinery and industrial equipment such as cranes, pumps, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production machinery, and automotive or construction equipment. You will work from diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, and technical specifications.

You will also inspect equipment in operation, listen for abnormalities, identify the source of mechanical issues, dismantle equipment to access failed components, and use hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools to remove and replace parts. The role calls for strong familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical power transmission, welding, rigging, and pipe fitting, along with the ability to handle projects with minimal direction.

Work Schedule and Environment

The position follows a 12-hour shift pattern, and new hires will most likely begin on the night shift. The schedule is a 2-2-3 continuous rotation, which creates built-in overtime opportunities and provides a three-day weekend every other week.

The work takes place in a heavy industrial plant environment that is fast-paced and may require movement across different areas of the factory. Conditions can be hot, cold, and noisy. Safety rules must always be followed, including the use of hearing protection, eye protection, protective clothing, and steel-toed shoes.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates must have a high school diploma, GED, or the Workforce Center's Career Readiness Certification (CRC) at Silver level or higher. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship.

The role requires the physical ability to lift heavy materials and to climb, stand, squat, bend, and work at heights, with or without reasonable accommodation. Applicants must have either 5 years of Millwright experience or completion of an accredited apprenticeship in this specific trade. A working understanding of the physical properties of common metals, including strength in shear, tension, compression, and hardness, is also required.

All candidates must pass an aptitude test and a hands-on assessment administered by an outside party.

Additional Information

Punctuality and dependable attendance are critical for operational success and for maintaining a positive team environment. Prior machine repair experience is preferred.
