Operations Manager

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for leading and enhancing the daily operations of a transport project. The objective is to ensure the project is operationally ready, adheres strictly to contractual requirements, and provides an outstanding experience for passengers and visitors through effective collaboration with all involved parties.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, including the deployment of vehicles, optimization of routes, and management of stations.
• Lead and mentor drivers, field operations staff, and customer service teams to ensure high performance standards.
• Guarantee full compliance with all quality, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and standards.
• Serve as the main point of contact for client organizations, government agencies, and external collaborators.
• Monitor operational schedules, travel times, and the reliability of services against key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Manage operational contracts and assess the performance of suppliers and contractors.
• Supervise ticketing systems and track daily revenue generated from operations.
• Generate and present detailed operational reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks, addressing any challenges encountered in the field.
• Spearhead the initial pilot phase and the subsequent official launch of the project.
• Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement to boost operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Job Requirements

Education

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Transportation Management, or a closely related field is mandatory.

Experience

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing transportation projects, large-scale infrastructure, or significant field service operations is required.
• Demonstrated experience in Public Transport or Government Projects is highly desirable.

• Proficiency in operational planning and execution.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, particularly for field staff.
• A strong understanding of governmental regulations and contract administration.
• Competence in data analysis, reporting, and KPI monitoring.
• Superior communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Capacity to perform effectively in demanding and fast-paced environments.
• Fluency in Arabic is essential; professional proficiency in English is a significant asset.
