Based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, this role sits within the payroll function of Boyd Group Services Inc. The Payroll Associate will help support payroll operations for more than 10,000 employees. Success in this role depends on maintaining accurate employee records, handling payroll calculations correctly, supporting employees with pay-related questions, and staying current with payroll legislation and regulatory updates.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain employee records in the payroll system and ensure all setup work follows applicable wage and tax rules.
- Enter, verify, and update payroll tax information with a high level of accuracy.
- Collect, calculate, and record payroll data on a weekly processing cycle.
- Respond quickly and courteously to employee inquiries about pay and payroll details.
- Track legislative and regulatory changes that affect payroll and suggest practical solutions to remain compliant across federal and state jurisdictions.
Experience and Education
- Bring 3 to 4 years of experience in a similar payroll role, ideally handling full-cycle payroll processing.
- PCP certification is preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ADP Workforce and/or Vantage HCM would be considered an advantage.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical and technical thinking with excellent attention to detail.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to stay organized, plan effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel.
- Flexibility to work adjusted hours when needed.
