About Roku

The company’s goal is to power television sets worldwide by connecting viewers with the content they enjoy, helping publishers grow and monetize audiences, and giving advertisers effective ways to reach consumers. Roku is a fast-scaling public company where employees are expected to contribute from day one and help shape the experience of millions of streaming users.

About the Team

The Consumer Planning & Optimization team makes decisions using data and focuses on investments tied to customer behavior such as purchases, subscriptions, and viewing habits. The team evaluates initiatives based on their impact on customer experience and overall platform value. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Planning & Analysis.

Role Overview

This role is an important part of the planning function within Consumer P&O. It partners across several business groups to analyze, size, and prioritize high-impact initiatives that support growth and improve customer lifetime value. The work includes building performance reporting and models, measuring initiative impact, coordinating with FP&A, and helping different teams across Roku launch and support new programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the monitoring, tracking, and reporting of business performance metrics such as revenue, profit, retention, customer lifetime value, return on investment, and P&O KPIs.
  • Create scalable reporting systems, forecasting templates, and business intelligence frameworks that can support ongoing planning work.
  • Work with Analytics and FP&A teams to improve processes, strengthen data systems, and reduce duplicated work across the organization.
  • Set baseline performance measures to support modeling of key customer actions.
  • Contribute to Roku’s international growth and expansion plans.
  • Build business cases and financial models for major company initiatives and identify new investment opportunities with strong return potential.
  • Work closely with Customer Intelligence, Analytics, and FP&A to check assumptions and confirm data quality.
  • Extend existing team planning and reporting capabilities to international markets, including opportunity sizing and market-specific analysis.
  • Develop persuasive presentation materials such as decks, notes, and written summaries that clearly explain forecasts, drivers, risks, opportunities, and performance trends for prioritization decisions.
  • Deliver fast, ad hoc insights that support executive-level decision-making.
  • Track industry and macroeconomic developments to understand their effect on customer lifetime value, revenue, and long-term planning.
  • Coordinate with FP&A and Analytics teams to ensure relevant trends are incorporated into broader company strategy.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in Consumer Analytics, SP&A, FP&A, or a related planning role, ideally with D2C SVOD and AVOD exposure, or a background in management consulting, investment banking, or equity research in the media, technology, or telecom sectors.
  • Practical experience with customer lifetime value, including its methodology, use cases, and impact on forecasting.
  • Strong ability to interpret complex business drivers, produce reliable analysis, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Exceptional Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills, including the ability to design polished presentations and simplify complex ideas into clear messages.
  • Understanding of cohort growth models and discounted cash flow models.
  • Advanced financial modeling ability, including the capability to develop and defend assumptions even when data is limited.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot in everyday workflows.
  • Very high standards for accuracy, organization, and delivery quality.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a service-oriented approach to business partnering.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-moving, high-pressure, and ambiguous environment.
  • Familiarity with dashboarding tools such as Tableau and Looker; coding knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Exposure to international markets and growth strategy is a plus.
