Role Overview
PIMCO is looking for a Product Associate to join its Alternative Credit & Private Strategies team in New York, New York. The role will support the development and day-to-day management of PIMCO’s more than $113 billion suite of Alternative Credit & Private Strategies products, including mortgage credit and real estate, corporate credit, and tactical credit. This position works closely with Portfolio Management, Client Management, Legal & Compliance, and other internal teams.
What You’ll Do
- Build attribution, commentary, and related client reporting for account managers and clients.
- Carry out in-depth research and quantitative analysis using Excel, Bloomberg, and other analytical tools.
- Update and manage marketing and client-service content, including presentation books and educational collateral.
- Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders with questions about the Alternative Credit & Private Strategies business.
- Take part in strategic discussions that support the expansion and evolution of the platform.
- Handle research assignments that arise on an ad hoc basis.
- Support requests for proposals (RFPs) and due diligence questionnaires (DDQs).
What We’re Looking For
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience, ideally within alternatives.
- Strong quantitative and mathematical capability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Natural curiosity and a desire to learn.
- Highly organized, energetic, and proactive approach to work.
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities effectively.
- Comfort working professionally with colleagues and external partners at all levels; strong team orientation.
- Strong interest in financial markets and investment management.
- Advanced Excel skills and working knowledge of Bloomberg preferred.
- CFA designation, or active progress toward the charter, is a plus.
Compensation
PIMCO uses a total compensation model that includes base pay and a discretionary bonus. Base salary reflects core responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market conditions. The bonus component is performance-based and depends on company, business, team, and individual results. The stated base salary range for this role is $90,000 to $110,000.
