Product Certification Auditor

Role Overview

BSI is seeking a Product Certification Auditor to support product compliance and certification activities across a range of manufacturing schemes. The role is field based and focuses on carrying out assessments, reviewing evidence, and helping ensure products meet BSI certification and Kitemark requirements.

This opportunity sits within a global organisation with a long history in standards and certification. The position involves working with manufacturers and supporting the delivery of product assurance across Glass, Fenestration, Structural Steel (EN 1090), Concrete, and Construction Products (CPR) schemes.

The role is based in the field, with travel required across Bristol, Bath, Gloucester, Cheltenham, or Exeter, and can involve extensive travel throughout the UK and Ireland, including overnight stays. Occasional travel within Europe may also be needed.

Key Responsibilities

You will be responsible for completing product certification assessments, documenting findings, and helping clients understand decisions and corrective actions. The position also includes account ownership, coordination with internal teams, and support for the development of less experienced assessors.

The role includes planning visits, arranging travel, managing a portfolio of clients, and ensuring assessments are delivered efficiently and in line with procedural requirements. You will also be expected to progress through an onboarding pathway toward Lead Assessor status.

Candidate Profile

BSI is looking for someone with strong exposure to manufacturing environments and product compliance, particularly where quality management or certification standards are involved. Experience in product auditing or assessment against standards is important, along with the ability to work independently and travel regularly.

An engineering or manufacturing qualification would be advantageous. Knowledge of ISO 9001 auditing practices is highly relevant, and a Lead Auditor 9001 qualification would be a strong plus.
