The firm partners closely with clients to drive durable, high-value outcomes across a wide range of business areas. Role overview
The organization is looking for an Associate Consultant to join a fast-growing, high-performing, and diverse team. This is a mid-level opportunity rather than a starter role, suited to someone with 2–3 years of practical experience in project management, project controls, or a similar discipline.
In this position, you will work with senior consultants and project teams to help plan, execute, and deliver client engagements across different industries and project types. The role calls for someone who understands core project management practices, wants to expand consulting capability, and can contribute in a structured, client-facing setting.
The right candidate will already have a strong base in project management and be ready to move from support work into a broader advisory and delivery role. Success in this position depends on analytical thinking, clear communication, and a proactive approach that helps anticipate needs and add value quickly.
This is a full-time, in-office role in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is not remote.
Project support and delivery
- Work with clients and internal teams to define, plan, and manage project activities in line with client goals and expectations.
- Help prepare project plans, timelines, and status updates, while tracking milestone progress and identifying risks or deviations early.
- Keep project records well organized and assist with change control, action tracking, and issue management across the project life cycle.
- Contribute to the creation and review of presentations, reports, and other client-ready materials so they are clear, accurate, and professional.
Stakeholder engagement and communication
- Take part in client meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions to gather requirements and share project progress updates.
- Respond quickly to client questions, help address concerns, and suggest practical ways to stay aligned with project objectives.
- Develop strong working relationships with both clients and internal colleagues throughout the course of each engagement.
Training and change support
- Assist with end-user training and facilitate workshops that help stakeholders adapt to new systems, processes, or working methods.
- Support change management efforts, including communications planning and tracking adoption activities.
Business analysis and problem solving
- Perform research and analysis to uncover insights, business impacts, and opportunities for improvement.
- Help shape business solutions and recommendations that are tailored to the client’s needs.
- Spot potential disruptions that could affect schedules or outcomes and escalate them proactively to senior team members.
Internal contributions
- Participate in internal initiatives, knowledge-sharing activities, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Assist with proposal preparation and internal deliverables when needed.
- Take on additional assignments as directed by senior leadership.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in project management, project controls, consulting, or a closely related area; this is explicitly not an entry-level role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Project Management, or a comparable discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Working familiarity with project management methods and frameworks.
- Previous exposure to a client-facing or professional services environment is considered an advantage.
- Experience in energy, infrastructure, capital projects, or regulated sectors is helpful but not mandatory.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, including the capacity to collect, interpret, and combine information effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in contributing to reports and presentations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; knowledge of project tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Smartsheet, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Well organized, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Self-driven and proactive, with a genuine interest in building a consulting career in project management.
- Willingness to travel when needed.
- Flexibility to work beyond standard business hours as required.
- Must be located in Toronto, Ontario, or willing to relocate independently.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
