Role overview
Tandem Project Management is seeking an experienced Project Manager to strengthen its growing team. The position can be based in either Cork or Dublin, and the role involves overseeing a portfolio of client-side projects in the pharmaceutical sector.
Key responsibilities
- Champion a strong project management and design methodology, and help ensure internal procedures are aligned with best practice.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities, while representing the company positively in all interactions.
- Create and present client-facing presentations.
- Develop proposals that include execution strategies and commercial considerations.
- Take part in industry events, company promotions, and marketing activities when needed.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with relevant stakeholders.
- Track project hours against the agreed execution plan.
- Build schedules, monitor progress, protect the critical path, and put corrective actions in place where required.
- Prepare cost estimates, oversee variations, and sign off monthly valuations.
- Produce monthly client reports covering safety, schedule, cost, procurement, required information, risks, and issues.
- Develop design packages for tender and IFC stages.
- Coordinate design deliverables across Tandem, sub-consultants, vendors, and contractors.
- Respond to technical questions from contractors and vendors.
- Review and approve vendor and contractor submittals.
- Carry out tender walkdowns with contractors and vendors, issue clarifications, chair bid clarification meetings, and compile tender reports.
- Conduct constructability reviews.
- Oversee site activity as needed.
- Perform site audits and inspections.
- Prepare and/or approve C&Q protocols, using sub-consultant support where appropriate.
Qualifications and experience
The role requires a degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a closely related field. Candidates should bring at least 5 years of project management experience in the life sciences sector, along with a proven record of delivering complex projects on schedule and within budget.
Additional information
This is a full-time, on-site position in Ireland, with the opportunity to work from the company’s Cork headquarters or Dublin office. The work is focused on pharmaceutical and wider life sciences client projects.
