Role overview
TAG is looking for a motivated SEO Specialist to join its Melbourne team. This position suits someone who enjoys the practice of search optimisation, likes working with a varied client portfolio, and wants to continue building expertise within a full-service digital growth consultancy in Australia.
You will work within TAG’s search team alongside the Senior SEO/GEO Specialist, helping drive measurable organic growth for clients across retail, eCommerce, SaaS, health, property, and other sectors.
About you
- You should genuinely enjoy SEO work, from audits and keyword research through to tracking the uplift in rankings and conversions.
- You are organised, comfortable communicating with others, and capable of taking ownership of your accounts.
- You bring 1 to 3 years of practical SEO experience, preferably from an agency or other client-facing setting.
- You understand core technical SEO, on-page optimisation, and content strategy.
- You are familiar with tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, or comparable platforms.
- You can turn SEO findings into straightforward, easy-to-understand insights for clients.
- You are interested in the future of search, including AI search, GEO, and answer engine optimisation, and are keen to keep learning.
- You work well collaboratively and bring a proactive, can-do approach.
- You can manage several clients at once without losing track of deadlines or details.
- Experience with Webflow, Shopify, or similar CMS platforms would be an advantage.
What you will do
You will handle SEO delivery, client communication, reporting, and collaboration with internal specialists to support growth outcomes.
SEO delivery
- Carry out technical SEO audits and support the implementation of improvements related to discoverability, page speed, structured data, and indexation.
- Create and execute on-page SEO plans, including keyword mapping, metadata optimisation, and internal linking.
- Prepare content briefs and review drafts with the production team so the material is search-led and commercially effective.
Client work
- With support from account managers, serve as a dependable SEO point of contact for clients by staying responsive, proactive, and aligned with their business goals.
- Build clear performance reports that connect organic activity with commercial results.
- Consistently deliver work to deadline and maintain a high standard of output.
Being part of the team
- Work closely with TAG’s web development, CRO, paid search, content, and data teams.
- Share insights with the wider team, including algorithm changes, new tools, and test learnings.
- Contribute to a team culture built on feedback, learning, and ongoing improvement.
