Role overview

Trafigura is hiring a Security Officer in Ndola, Copperbelt Province, Zambia. The role is centered on protecting people, property, and operations while ensuring that site security procedures are followed consistently.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the safety, security, and welfare of employees, visitors, and the site at all times.
• Safeguard company property and equipment from theft, assault, sabotage, fire, and other security or safety risks.
• React promptly to emergencies and provide immediate support where employees or customers need assistance.
• Inspect the electric fence and perimeter walls twice each day to identify possible intrusion or damage.
• Monitor and accurately report on cargo moving in and out of the site.
• Verify the night mobile police unit against the agreed on-site count and carry out weekly panic-button tests.
• Ensure the number of security guards present matches the figures stated on security company invoices.
• Follow the company’s service standards and operating procedures.
• Take part in CHESS routines, including general safety checks and inspections.

Qualifications and experience

The position reports to the Security Superintendent. Candidates should have a Grade 12 Certificate and a security-related background, with approximately 3 to 7 years of experience preferred.
