About the company
Technical Maintenance Support is an independently owned, progressive business operating from Geraldton, Perth, and Kalgoorlie in Western Australia.
About the role
The business is seeking a seasoned and capable Shutdown Coordinator to join the team because workload has grown. This is a full-time role on a 2:2 roster, suited to someone with strong knowledge of fixed plant shutdowns and the ability to manage maintenance events effectively. Work is mostly site-based FIFO/DIDO, although occasional time in the Perth office may be needed for reporting, meetings, and related tasks.
A laptop and phone are supplied, and a company vehicle may be provided when site travel is required.
Key duties
- Lead pre-shutdown planning, including walkarounds and coordination meetings.
- Manage major outages and specialised fixed-plant maintenance work across milling, crushing, and conveying circuits.
- Maintain clear and effective communication with client management and maintenance teams so all work requirements are completed.
- Prepare accurate work reports supported by photos and details from site activities.
Experience and technical background
- At least 2 years of experience in a coordination role, or a closely related position.
- A trade qualification recognised in Australia, or a higher-level qualification.
- Working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets completed within the last 2 years.
- S26 Statutory Supervisor certification.
Preferred capabilities
- Exposure to bearing fitment, laser alignment, and gear alignment would be an advantage, though it is not mandatory.
- Strong leadership skills and a practical approach to solving problems.
Employment terms
This is a permanent full-time position with consistent weekly hours and an ongoing commitment. The roster is 2/2, and the role is primarily onsite, with Perth office attendance required when not on site. Leave is paid as 20 days of annual leave, based on 12-hour days.
