Role overview
Miraval The Red Sea is hiring a Spa Receptionist for Life in Balance Spa. This position is the welcoming face of the spa and the first person guests meet when they arrive for a wellness experience. The role is focused on delivering polished, attentive service, keeping the reception area organized, and helping the spa run smoothly while maintaining a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. It also involves strong product knowledge across spa treatments, retail items, and resort wellness services, along with thoughtful upselling and cross-selling that supports guest needs and revenue growth.
Guest reception and support
- Welcome visitors in a professional, friendly manner and share information about spa treatments, wellness programs, and fitness services available at the resort.
- Coordinate bookings and calendars so treatment, fitness, and wellness appointments are scheduled accurately.
- Explain the retail products used in treatments and suggest suitable options based on individual guest preferences.
- Handle check-ins, check-outs, payments, and general guest questions smoothly and accurately.
- Maintain a tranquil front-of-house experience so guests feel relaxed, supported, and well cared for from arrival onward.
- Keep track of guest preferences to help ensure service remains personalized and consistent.
Operational support and flexibility
- Support day-to-day spa reception operations so the front desk remains tidy, efficient, and well managed.
- Provide assistance in the Body Mindfulness Center, Aquatic Center, or Serenity Center whenever needed, depending on guest demand and operational priorities.
- Help monitor retail and spa supply stock and contribute to cleanliness and product availability across wellness spaces.
- Adapt to changing guest flow and resort needs while supporting a seamless overall experience.
Cash handling, reporting, and inventory
- Process cash, card, and POS transactions carefully and professionally.
- Prepare end-of-day handovers, daily summaries, and financial reports in line with resort procedures.
- Assist with stock counts and inventory control for retail and wellness items at reception.
- Track retail sales in the system and communicate replenishment needs when required.
Revenue generation and upselling
- Increase revenue through considerate upselling and cross-selling of retail products, spa treatments, fitness activities, and wellness offerings.
- Introduce guests to additional options such as personal training, fitness classes, and spa enhancements in a way that complements their wellness journey.
- Recommend retail items used in treatments based on guest needs, preferences, and wellbeing goals.
- Ensure all sales suggestions remain guest-centered, relevant, and aligned with each person’s wellness objectives.
Guest engagement and emotional connection
- Create meaningful guest relationships through attentive, personalized interactions that support each guest’s wellness journey.
- Offer calm, reassuring communication that helps guests feel at ease before and after their spa visits.
- Inform guests about the full range of wellness experiences available, including classes, treatments, and other resort offerings.
- Help guests feel comfortable, confident, and connected to their personal wellness goals while at Miraval The Red Sea.
Team collaboration and administrative work
- Work closely with spa therapists, fitness instructors, and other wellness professionals to provide a connected guest experience across the resort.
- Share guest feedback, booking updates, and operational needs with the Head of Scheduling and spa leadership.
- Contribute positively to a supportive team culture.
- Maintain accurate guest appointments and reduce scheduling errors.
- Assist with guest records, inventory tracking, and reports related to bookings and sales.
- Keep the reception space clean, orderly, and welcoming at all times.
- Ensure treatments, wellness services, and retail products are properly logged in the system for smooth operations.
Qualifications
Applicants should have at least 1 year of experience in a spa receptionist or guest services role within a luxury wellness resort or hospitality environment. Experience with retail products such as skincare and wellness items is important, along with the ability to explain product benefits and recommend them appropriately. A background in booking systems and appointment management is required. Strong English communication skills are needed, and Arabic is an advantage. The role also calls for excellent customer service, a genuine interest in wellness and mindfulness, and prior experience with upselling and cross-selling in a luxury setting.
