Tanks Inspector

Role Overview

Bureau Veritas is seeking an experienced Tanks Inspector for its Karachi, Sindh assignment. The role focuses on inspection of above-ground storage tanks and related systems in refinery or petrochemical environments, with strong alignment to industry codes and standards.

Core Technical Scope

• Hold API 653 and API 2350 certification, or bring equivalent expertise with deep working knowledge of API 650 and API 620 gained over at least 10 years in process piping inside battery limit inspections at refineries or petrochemical facilities.
• Understand and apply API 653, API 620, API 651, NFPA guidance, OGRA requirements, and Petroleum Rules relevant to above-ground storage tanks.
• Carry out detailed internal and external inspections of storage tanks, covering the floor, shell, geodesic roof, and nozzles.
• Use ultrasonic testing equipment to measure shell plate thickness and detect corrosion, pitting, or lamination.
• Inspect roof assemblies, including fixed roofs, floating roofs, pontoons, seals, vents, and drains.
• Oversee hydrostatic water-fill testing and record settlement measurements during the test process.
• Perform or manage DPT, MPT, and vacuum box testing on welds and repaired sections of tanks.

Minimum Eligibility

• API 653 and API 2350 certification, or an equivalent qualification.
• At least 10 years of hands-on tank inspection experience.
• Strong command of API 650 and API 620 and tank inspection systems.
• Background in inspection, testing, and corrosion evaluation.
• Mandatory oil and gas project experience in construction, QA/QC, and commissioning.
• Valid certificates must be available and shared together with the CV.
