Role Overview
CompassX is hiring a Technical Program Manager to oversee enterprise application development and the nationwide deployment of a flagship restaurant technology program for a global quick service restaurant brand. In this role, you will act as the central owner of knowledge and alignment across technical and operational workstreams, helping ensure that complex hardware-software integrations and application development efforts are delivered clearly, accountably, and ready to scale.
This position is suited to someone with strong data and systems understanding, practical development experience or equivalent technical depth, and the ability to shift between multiple operating modes as needed to keep a broad program moving from early development through pilot, market launch, and national rollout.
Core Responsibilities
- Own program planning and delivery across several parallel workstreams, while serving as the main escalation point for program status, interdependencies, and prioritization decisions.
- Work within an agile governance structure and help improve delivery pace across development and QA in coordination with the product owner.
- Anticipate risks and guide the program steadily through development, pilot, market entry, and nationwide rollout without losing direction or momentum.
- Coordinate dependencies across teams, sequence work appropriately, and keep initiatives moving in parallel without conflict.
- Push issues, blockers, and dependency gaps toward resolution and escalate them with the right context and urgency when needed.
- Build a practical understanding of the broader technology landscape, including hardware and software integrations, middleware, and connected platforms.
- Collaborate with the product owner, solution architects, engineers, and operations teams to align on technical direction, test proposed approaches, and make sequencing decisions that reflect both the product roadmap and operational constraints.
- Spot process gaps, help design fixes, drive alignment across functions, and ensure a smooth transition into operations for training and adoption.
- Create and deliver executive-ready program updates for internal leaders and franchise stakeholders, tailoring communication for technical, operational, and executive audiences.
Desired Experience
- 8+ years in technical program management with ownership of complex, multi-workstream programs in enterprise settings.
- A strong grounding in data systems and integration architecture, including how data is calculated and transferred across connected platforms, plus the ability to investigate inconsistencies and drive closure with technical teams.
- Software development experience, or similarly deep technical experience, with confidence discussing architecture and hardware-software integration, challenging assumptions, and making sound sequencing and prioritization calls.
- Hands-on exposure to Android application development, including device certification, OS version management, and enterprise managed-device deployment.
- Experience working in or alongside fast-moving, multi-location environments such as quick service restaurants, retail, hospitality, or field service where technology must be deployed at scale.
- Background leading steering committee meetings and cross-functional forums involving internal, external, and executive stakeholders.
- Experience producing executive-level program reporting and supporting resource allocation decisions.
- Self-driven, outcome-focused, and comfortable operating independently within a complex and fast-changing program.
Benefits and Perks
- Competitive base pay with a substantial variable compensation opportunity.
- Clear and transparent annual performance reviews.
- Paid time off, holidays, and sick leave.
- Sabattical program.
- Health, dental, and vision coverage, plus term life and AD&D insurance.
- Retirement plan with company matching.
- Ongoing education support to strengthen skills and knowledge.
- Small-company environment with direct access to the Executive Leadership Team.
- Chance to help shape and build the firm.
- Remote work flexibility.
- Opportunity to expand your professional network within your community.
