About the internship

Safalta Setu is a purpose-led initiative that works to connect Army Brats, meaning children of Armed Forces personnel, with meaningful industry exposure. The organization supports military youth through mentorship, career guidance, and access to professional networks, and is guided by a team of IIT alumni. It also creates and sells book-based products to further its outreach and social mission.

This internship is structured as a learning-focused, portfolio-building opportunity. It is unpaid, but it is designed to give practical experience through real projects that are expected to be used publicly. The role centers on Unreal Engine work for creative publishing, with an emphasis on producing polished visual assets for story-based content.

What you will do

• Build stylized 2D-plus environments in UE5 and shape them into immersive, story-driven worlds rather than simply arranging assets.
• Create cinematic lighting and compositions, handling hero shots and using tools such as Lumen and Path Tracing to support the look of the publication visuals.
• Set up fast, repeatable workflows for character posing and environment changes so that a 40-page story remains visually consistent.
• Prepare, optimize, and combine assets with a final-render mindset so every output is suitable for print-ready delivery.

Learning and project exposure

• Work on live projects instead of practice assignments.
• Gain hands-on exposure in a creative, fast-moving environment with clear task ownership.
• Receive mentoring and practical experience with tools and workflows used in the industry.
• Contribute to a socially meaningful initiative while building a stronger portfolio.

Who can apply

This opportunity is open to candidates who can work from home, are able to begin between 22 June 2026 and 27 July 2026, can commit for 4 months, and have relevant skills and interest in the work. Women who want to start or restart their careers are also encouraged to apply. Computer Science Engineering students are eligible as well.

Additional details

The internship is part-time and remote. The stipend is unpaid. The application deadline is 22 July 2026 at 11:59 PM. The role offers a certificate, a letter of recommendation, and flexible work hours.
