Role overview
Westwing is looking for an Assistant Buyer to support a fast-paced furniture buying team in Munich. In this role, you will help drive product development and internal production activities across the furniture assortment, with a focus on quality requirements, sample coordination, and purchase order handling. You will work closely with colleagues across Creative and Quality, and you may also coordinate photo shoots, manage marketing samples, and contribute to a variety of products such as dining tables and coffee tables. This is a fixed-term position for 1 year based in Munich.
What you will do
- Support the category buyer with everyday operational work and partner closely with the Creative and Quality teams throughout product development.
- Take responsibility for product development coordination by tracking samples and creating, monitoring, and following up on purchase orders.
- Handle questions and issues related to warehousing, quality, and customer service.
- Serve as a point of contact for business partners across Asia and Europe.
- Use AI and automation solutions to make sample tracking and data upkeep more efficient.
What we are looking for
- A bachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline.
- Initial exposure through an internship or first role in buying or sourcing is an advantage.
- A hands-on, structured, proactive, and target-driven approach to work.
- Strong planning and time management abilities.
- Very good MS Office skills, especially in Excel.
- Confident English skills; German is considered a plus.
