Role overview

Queensland Corrective Services is hiring a Case Manager to support Community Corrections work in Mount Isa, Queensland. This position contributes to public safety by providing structured, evidence-based case management and individualised supervision support that helps reduce reoffending and encourages positive change.

Community Corrections works with people in the community who are subject to court and Parole Board Queensland orders. In this role, you will join a team focused on helping supervised individuals meet their obligations, access appropriate support services, and move toward a law-abiding future.

What you will do

• Promote community safety by interviewing individuals, identifying risks, and applying timely risk management responses.
• Support rehabilitation and reintegration for people under community supervision.
• Help ensure compliance with the conditions attached to community-based orders.
• Deliver evidence-based case management, create tailored supervision plans, and guide people toward a crime-free future.
• Handle a busy and changing workload by managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Use policy and procedural frameworks accurately and exercise sound judgment in day-to-day offender management.

Role requirements

• You must have a bachelor’s degree in a discipline connected to human services or criminology, such as Law, Justice, Humanities, Psychology, Social Sciences, Behavioural Science, Social Welfare, Health, Education, Business, or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies.
• If you are in your final year of study, you may apply for temporary vacancies and be considered for a suitability-based talent pool, provided you complete your degree and supply formal evidence from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Selected candidates must complete the Certificate IV in Correctional Practice (Community). All required activities and assessments must be finished within 12 months of starting, and full certification must be obtained within 18 months.
• A current C class driver’s licence is required.
• You must have the legal right to live and work in Australia.
