Role overview
Aramark Workplace Solutions is looking to add a Cleaning Supervisor to its team in Waterford. Reporting to the manager, the person in this position will draw on their experience and practical know-how to deliver service to the client in a cost-efficient and creative way. This is a very hands-on position suited to someone energetic, adaptable, and open to taking on new challenges.
Working pattern
This is a permanent, full-time role scheduled across 5 days out of 7, so flexibility is important. The current working hours are Monday to Friday, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
Key duties
- Collect, check, and return weekly and monthly timesheets within the required deadlines and in line with payroll instructions.
- Organise staff rosters and rotas.
- Oversee all on-site Aramark stock and make sure monthly stocktake reports are completed accurately.
- Make sure cleaning materials and equipment are used correctly.
- Ensure equipment is stored properly, remains in working order, and any problems are escalated to line management.
- Respond to client questions promptly and effectively.
- Arrange cover for annual leave and sick leave.
- Confirm that the cleaning programme across all areas is completed to a satisfactory standard.
- Monitor correct attendance and timekeeping for all cleaning staff.
- Ensure site-specific security procedures are followed.
- Hold daily or weekly review meetings with the Site Facilities Assistant as needed.
- Meet weekly with the Regional Co-Ordinator and provide updates on resolved issues and any matters that need escalation.
- Run staff meetings and monthly Health and Safety toolbox talks.
- Review staff performance, including cleaning standards and output.
- Check PPE compliance among the team and provide feedback where needed.
- Maintain compliance records, cleaning documentation, and checklists.
- Perform spot checks and cleaning audits to support the monthly audit process.
- Promote strong internal communication and a collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
- Build strong client relationships and work to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Prepare financial forecasts, track expenditure, and help keep the department within budget and guidelines.
- Support team development and manage the staffing and performance of direct reports.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in cleaning services in a supervisory or management capacity. Strong organisation, flexibility, excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities, solid IT skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to multitask and work independently are all important for success in this role.

Requirements and preferred background
- Minimum 2 years' experience in cleaning services at supervisory or management level.
- Full BICS training is preferred.
- Good organisational ability and adaptability.
- Strong personality and customer service skills.
- Confident use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and use initiative without close supervision.
