Role overview
This position is for a Data Analyst who can turn raw information into practical insights for several parts of the business. The role involves working with SQL, using Python to prepare and analyse data, and creating reports that help stakeholders make decisions. It is suited to someone who can communicate clearly, work across different teams, and handle changing priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Write, refine, and support SQL queries used to pull data from relational databases.
- Create and execute Python scripts to clean, process, and analyse data for specific business needs.
- Prepare recurring and on-demand reports for stakeholders across multiple departments.
- Work with teams across the company to understand reporting goals and translate business questions into data tasks.
- Check data quality, identify inconsistencies, and investigate mismatches.
- Keep clear documentation of queries, workflows, and findings so the work can be reused and expanded.
- Manage competing requests and shifting priorities from different stakeholder groups.
Requirements
- Mid-level hands-on experience with SQL, including joins, aggregations, window functions, and subqueries.
- Practical Python skills for data work, including pandas, basic scripting, and handling APIs or CSV/Excel files.
- Experience producing reports for business users, including gathering requirements and sharing findings back clearly.
- Comfort working across several business areas or subject matters.
- Some exposure to SaaS environments, whether as a user, builder, or analyst.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain results clearly.
- A habit of asking clarifying questions before starting work.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to check your own output carefully.
- Confidence working independently and taking initiative without waiting for instructions.
- Ability to move between teams such as product, marketing, finance, and leadership while keeping context intact.
Preferred experience
- Experience with Salesforce, including reporting, data extraction, or understanding the data structure.
- Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI, Quicksight, Tableau, Looker, or Metabase.
- Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift.
- Experience using version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket.
