Overview
This opportunity is for a Data Specialist based in Canada and is being handled on behalf of a partner organization that oversees the application and selection process. The role sits in a fully remote, international setting and focuses on owning the full lifecycle of data infrastructure, analytics, and reporting.
You will help turn raw information into dependable reporting and practical insights that teams can use to make better decisions. The position calls for strong ownership, attention to detail, and a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of independence. A key part of the work involves improving data quality, spotting irregularities early, and strengthening the organization’s analytics foundation.
Key Responsibilities
- Run and improve complete data pipelines and warehouse workflows, using ETL platforms such as Stitch and Google BigQuery.
- Create, update, and support dashboards and reporting solutions in Looker Studio for business intelligence across departments.
- Set up and verify Google Analytics 4 tracking, including event tracking, implementation checks, and reporting consistency.
- Carry out detailed validation and quality checks to keep reporting outputs accurate, consistent, and dependable.
- Continuously watch data movement to catch anomalies, troubleshoot issues, and take corrective action before business decisions are affected.
- Prepare custom reports and ad hoc analyses for different business teams as needed.
- Work with engineering and other stakeholders to refine data architecture, tracking, and reporting processes.
- Keep clear documentation, track tasks, and maintain organized workflows with tools like Trello and Slack.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience in a Data Analyst, Data Specialist, or similar analytics-oriented role.
- Practical experience with data pipelines and ETL tools such as Stitch or equivalent solutions, along with data warehousing in Google BigQuery.
- Strong command of Looker Studio, including dashboard development and advanced calculated metrics or reporting logic.
- Experience with Google Analytics, ideally GA4, covering event setup, implementation, and behavioral data interpretation.
- Ability to validate datasets and dashboards thoroughly while maintaining end-to-end reporting accuracy.
- Sharp analytical thinking with the ability to identify trends, anomalies, and meaningful insights in complex data.
- Experience producing tailored reports and insights for cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Strong self-management and documentation habits, with the ability to work independently in a remote setup.
- Clear and responsive communication skills suited to distributed, cross-time-zone collaboration.
Benefits
- Remote-first setup with global flexibility.
- Direct influence on how data informs decisions across the business.
- High ownership over analytics and data systems from end to end.
- Exposure to modern data stack tools and technologies.
- Lean, agile environment with limited bureaucracy and a strong focus on execution.
- Emphasis on experimentation and ongoing improvement.
- Collaborative global culture spanning multiple time zones.
- Opportunity to help build scalable analytics systems from the ground up.
Additional Information
The hiring process and next steps are managed by the partner company rather than directly through the listing source. Applications are reviewed through an AI-assisted matching process designed to assess candidates against the core role requirements in a fair and objective way. The shortlist is then shared with the hiring employer, who handles interviews, assessments, and final decisions.
Your personal data may be processed for recruitment purposes and shared with the hiring employer as part of the application review process. This is based on legitimate interest and pre-contractual measures under applicable data protection laws, including GDPR. You may request access, correction, deletion, or objection to processing at any time.
AI tools may also be used to support parts of the recruitment workflow, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, and checking for inconsistencies or verification signals. These tools assist the recruitment team but do not replace human judgment, and final hiring decisions are made by people.
