Role overview
Shive-Hattery’s St. Louis, Missouri office is hiring a Design Professional to join its Industrial Architecture Studio right away. This full-time opportunity is suited to a driven professional with a strong interest in learning, contributing across project stages, and working toward either an Architect license or NCIDQ certification.
Working under the direction of the Studio Leader, the role supports industrial projects and related services through design-focused work that helps deliver client satisfaction and strong project outcomes.
What you will do
- Take part in design conversations, concept development, collaboration, and design production across drawings, models, and 3D visuals.
- Oversee production and coordination of design documents and technical deliverables under the supervision of a licensed design professional.
- Create graphic and presentation imagery.
- Develop design work and detailing in Revit.
- Join project and client meetings alongside design professionals, interior designers, and architects.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients and contractors on active projects while representing Shive-Hattery professionally.
- Contribute to relevant AIA, NCARB, and community initiatives when possible.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited professional degree, with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture, interior design, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Up to 3 years of experience, with internships or summer experience considered an advantage.
- No license or certification is required for this role.
- Working knowledge of architectural systems, construction documentation, and related technology.
- Strong creative and critical thinking skills as they relate to design and the design process.
- Basic understanding of architectural specifications, international building codes, life safety code, and current ADA requirements.
- Familiarity with programming, planning, and building performance is helpful.
- Self-driven, creative, and able to solve problems independently.
- Practical experience with Autodesk Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, and Google SketchUp.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD is an advantage.
- Strong communication skills.
