Role overview
The Ecologist will carry out habitat surveys, ecological appraisals, and technical reporting across projects in several sectors. The position also involves contributing to environmental assessments, supplying ecological advice throughout the project lifecycle, and helping shape practical mitigation measures. The work combines time in the field, data review, and client interaction, with regular collaboration alongside planners, environmental professionals, and wider project teams.
Requirements
- A degree in Ecology, Environmental Management, or a closely related field
- Previous experience in ecology, environmental consultancy, or a similar area
- Working knowledge of UK ecological legislation, policy, and guidance
- Strong written and spoken communication ability
- Experience preparing technical reports and survey records
- A full UK driving licence
- Full legal right to work in the UK
- Residence in, or a reasonable commute to, the Cambridge office area
- Good organisation and project management skills
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
