Role Summary

This full-time, on-site Facility Operator position in Wakulla, FL focuses on the day-to-day running of the shop and its surrounding areas. The job covers opening and closing duties, maintaining cleanliness, checking equipment and workspaces, and making sure the facility stays safe and orderly. You will also help with basic upkeep, coordinate repair needs with vendors or technicians, support inventory and supply control, and keep the shop ready for staff to begin work. In addition, you may guide visitors, drivers, or delivery personnel so traffic moves smoothly through the facility.

Key Duties

• Handle daily opening and closing procedures for the facility.
• Keep the shop floor, work areas, storage spaces, and surrounding grounds clean, organized, and operational.
• Carry out regular checks to confirm tools, equipment, and work areas remain functional and properly arranged.
• Perform simple maintenance and support minor repair needs as required.
• Work with vendors or technicians when outside assistance is needed for repairs or servicing.
• Track and assist with supplies, inventory, and general materials used in the shop.
• Manage waste disposal and help maintain compliance with safety procedures.
• Prepare work areas so technicians can begin projects efficiently.
• Direct guests, drivers, and delivery personnel to the correct locations and support smooth facility movement.

Qualifications

Applicants should have experience in facility operations, including opening and closing routines, inspections, and coordination of maintenance or repair work. The role requires the ability to handle basic building and equipment upkeep such as cleaning, organizing, minor fixes, and safe tool use. A strong commitment to safety is important, including awareness of hazards, correct PPE use, and adherence to shop rules. Good organization and time management are needed to keep supplies in order and prioritize daily tasks. You should also be able to communicate clearly with technicians, vendors, and leadership, and follow both written instructions and safety guidance. Because the job is physically active, candidates must be able to stand for long periods and lift, move, or carry materials safely. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and experience in an automotive, industrial, or shop environment is preferred.
